About Me

My Writing Roots

I’ve always been a storyteller, long before I ever called myself a writer. I grew up surrounded by books and words, telling ghost stories around the campfire and making up bedtime adventures for my kids. I earned my degree in journalism because I loved how writing could make sense of chaos, but life took me down other paths: marriage, motherhood, and a busy career. The stories stayed quiet for a while, waiting. They finally found their voice after my divorce, when I realized I wasn’t just starting over personally, I was starting a new chapter entirely. Writing became the way I rediscovered who I was and what I was meant to do.

My Background

Before writing full-time, I built a career in business operations, marketing, and technology. Fields that taught me structure, problem-solving, and persistence. I’ve worked in computers, direct sales, and leadership roles while raising two incredible son. One son in college and one in high school. As a single mom, I learned how to juggle everything with a mix of grit, caffeine, and a sense of humor. Those experiences (balancing spreadsheets and storylines, boardrooms and bedtime stories) shaped how I approach both life and writing. I live in Wisconsin with my two cats, a steady supply of coffee, Diet Coke, and an endless love of donuts.

My Style

I write heartfelt women’s fiction filled with humor, hope, and honesty. My stories center around women who are flawed, funny, and brave enough to face the messy middle of life. Whether it’s a mother finding unexpected connection after loss in The Number After You or three women rediscovering joy and courage in The Will to Change, my goal is always the same, to tell stories that feel real. I want readers to laugh, cry, and close the book feeling a little more seen, a little more understood, and maybe even a little more hopeful about what comes next.

My approach to creativity

I’ve learned that creativity and structure aren’t opposites—they’re partners. My background in systems design and operations taught me that great stories, like great businesses, need both imagination and process. I occasionally use generative AI tools for brainstorming and revision support, not to replace the human voice, but to refine it. My goal is always to create with intention: to bring order to ideas without losing the magic in them. Writing is my favorite kind of problem-solving, it’s equal parts heart, craft, and curiosity: and it’s where all the pieces of my world finally come together.
